As you begin to age, you may have started to notice wrinkles forming around your eyes and forehead. Or maybe your skin is starting to sag around your mouth and eyes. Even though these signs of aging are inevitable, there are treatments available to help fight against them.

If you’re trying to get your youthful look back, our team at Martha Viera Dermatology can help you get there. We offer facial contouring services to help you achieve your aesthetic goals.

What is facial contouring?

Facial contouring is any type of procedure that can help to reshape your face. This includes adding or subtracting volume and reshaping certain areas in and around your face. Facial contouring can be done with minimally invasive procedures or even surgery.

Facial contouring can help to work on any of the following:
Minimizing lines and wrinkles
Minimizing sagging skin
Softening the jaw area
Adding volume to the lips

Most of these treatments will help rejuvenate your skin and give you an overall younger appearance.

Types of facial contouring

At Martha Viera Dermatology, we offer a few different ways to contour your face in order to help you achieve your ideal appearance. All of the following are either minimal or noninvasive options for aesthetic treatments.

Botox®
Botox is the most popular cosmetic procedure nationwide. It’s an injection of a botulinum toxin that temporarily freezes the muscles you use that cause wrinkles. It’s most commonly used for crow’s feet and frown lines.

Dermal fillers
Dermal fillers are another type of cosmetic injection. However, these injections have a gel-like consistency to mimic natural skin tissues. Fillers are used to treat wrinkles that are much larger or to add volume to certain areas of your face. They can help to plump up your lips or shallow areas around your face or even fill in recessed scars.

Bio-stimulatory fillers
Another branch of fillers contain injectable poly-L-lactic acid, which encourages your body to produce new collagen. These are also known as bio-stimulatory fillers. Over time, this will help to restore your facial volume in places you feel have sunken in. Two common types of bio-stimulatory fillers are Sculptra® and Radiesse®.

Sofwave™
Sofwave is a noninvasive treatment that uses ultrasound energy, or energy that comes from sound waves, to help stimulate the growth of new collagen. This, in turn, will help firm up your skin. Sofwave typically targets wrinkly or saggy areas around your face like your eyebrows, neck, jaw, cheeks, or mouth.

Morpheus8
Morpheus8 is a fractional radiofrequency treatment that targets imperfections in your skin by producing new collagen in the underlying layers of the dermis. This treatment option is great for acne scars, stretch marks, and wrinkles, all of which can age your face.

All of these treatments are able to give you back the face shape that you want for a new and youthful look.
